I am thrilled and honored to have been selected as the poster and t-shirt artist for the Pine Castle Pioneer Days Festival, happening February 22-23, 2025. This cherished local tradition that celebrates Pine Castle, Florida's rich history, holds a special place in the hearts of so many in our community. Living in Belle Isle, just a stone's throw from Pine Castle, I feel a deep connection to this area and its vibrant history, which made creating the artwork for this year's festival even more meaningful.
The painting I designed captures the spirit of Pioneer Days. This year's theme is citrus, so I created an image similar to a vintage old Florida citrus label. At its heart are two bright, sun-kissed oranges—symbolizing Central Florida's rich agricultural history. The scene also features a picturesque covered wagon traveling along a riverbank lined with orange groves and palm trees, reflecting the journey and perseverance of the pioneers who shaped this land. I can't wait to see the image displayed on posters throughout the community and proudly worn on t-shirts during the festival.
Being part of this festival is an excellent way to celebrate the history, creativity, and community that make Pine Castle and its surrounding areas so unique. I look forward to joining my neighbors and visitors for this incredible two-day event filled with music, crafts, food, and celebration. It's an opportunity to come together, honor our roots, and create new memories. I hope to see you there as we celebrate the enduring spirit of our community and the legacy of those who came before us!
