Naughty Navel Orange Growers - Vintage Citrus Label - Original Artwork

Angels have been symbolic in Heather's life for various reasons. She was raised by a Christian family, and angels have been a prominent figure in her life since childhood. When she went to college, she joined a sorority that had an angel as its mascot.  
 
"Naughty Navel Orange Growers" playfully contrasts innocence and mischief in vividly celebrating Florida's citrus heritage. At the painting's center is an angelic figure with delicate wings, but a pair of sly devil horns mischievously peek through her hair. Ripe oranges and orange blossoms surround the figure. In the background, a quaint farm with a rustic barn and rows of orange trees anchors the scene in a sense of place. The juxtaposition of celestial grace and devilish charm infuses the painting with whimsy.

Vintage Florida citrus labels inspired this collection.  Heather put her unique twist on these labels, creating fun and interesting fictitious names. Each label was hand-painted on a custom cabinet door; some were taken from an old Florida home built in 1954!  Each piece is one of a kind!
